These are the rules we follow when we research and publish. They apply to every page on the site.
Independence
Our research pages are written to help readers, not to please manufacturers or retailers. We don’t accept payment for coverage, for positive wording or for where a product appears. We don’t sell badges, awards, rankings or review slots.
How we are funded
Trusted Products may earn a commission if you buy through some links. We don’t choose or rank products by how much commission they pay. See our Affiliate disclosure.
Sources
We prefer original sources: the manufacturer’s own datasheet or manual, government and regulator information, and published test results. Where we use owner feedback, we say where it came from and when we looked. We open and read a source before we cite it, and we date it. The full method is on How we research.
Accuracy and checking
Every page is checked against its sources before it is published. We keep claims within what the sources support, and we label manufacturer claims, owner reports and our own interpretation separately. Pages show a “last updated” date, which changes only when we have checked and changed the page.

We use AI tools to help draft pages.
Free products and gifts
Where we have reviewed a product in person, the page says whether we bought it or it was supplied free by the manufacturer or distributor. If a manufacturer or retailer offers a payment or any other benefit, we will say so on the page it relates to. Supplying a product does not buy coverage or a positive review.
Suggestions from manufacturers and readers
Anyone can suggest a product for us to research. A suggestion doesn’t guarantee coverage, and it can’t be bought.
Owner feedback and reviews
We don’t write, buy or solicit reviews, and we don’t ask anyone to change one. We read published reviews as evidence and are open about their limits.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and say so. See Corrections.
