Known issues and safety

Recall check: we searched GOV.UK product safety alerts, reports and recalls (Office for Product Safety and Standards) for “ring automotive” on 19 October 2026. It lists a March 2023 recall of a different Ring jump starter, the RPPL360, for a fire risk from damaged battery cable sleeving in batches 38/21 and 05/23 [2][3]. That recall does not name the RPP900. Check your unit’s model number against it.

Follow the instructions supplied. The RAC advises not placing a jump starter on the engine and checking it is charged first [4].

Questions people ask

Is it still sold?
