What the earlier review said
These are the earlier review’s own words, from 2019. We have not repeated the test and cannot confirm them.
How they used it: “We followed the instructions and used it on a heavily frosted windscreen.”
What they liked:
- “Impressed with how quick it shifted the ice, almost straight away the ice had gone and we only had to put the wipers on to remove the liquid. Easy!”
- “No need to keep squeezing a trigger, thanks to the compressed can just simply press on the nozzle”
What they didn’t like: “If you leave the can in the car, it’s gonna be very cold to hold! But that’s the same for all canned products!”
Their overall view: “It shifted the ice quickly with very little hassle and all that was left to do after was put the wipers on.”

Known issues and safety
Recall check: we searched GOV.UK product safety alerts, reports and recalls (Office for Product Safety and Standards) for “rac de-icer” on 19 October 2026. It returned 34 results and none was an RAC or de-icer product [2]. Check the list again for the exact product before you buy.
We could not find a label or manual we could cite, so we cannot summarise the maker’s directions or warnings. Follow the instructions on the can.
The earlier review cleared the liquid with the wipers. The AA says to make sure the wipers are off before you start the car, because wipers frozen to the glass can be damaged [3]. See our guide on how to clear an iced windscreen safely.
Questions people ask
What did the earlier review say about how well it worked?
The previous owners said it shifted heavy frost quickly and that only the wipers were needed afterwards [1]. We have not confirmed that.
Is it still on sale?
We could not confirm it. We did not find a current page for it.
Do I still need a scraper?
The AA describes using a scraper and de-icer together on the outside of the glass [3].

Our verdict
We cannot recommend or advise against this product. The only account of it we have is the previous owners’ 2019 review, which was positive about speed and price. Check the label on a current can before you rely on it. This is a research summary, not a test result.
