  • Skip if: You need confirmed materials, dimensions or guarantee terms before you buy.

We haven’t tested this product ourselves. This page quotes an earlier review and sets out what we could and could not check on 19 October 2026. The earlier review was written by the previous owners of this site, when it traded as Trusted Car Products, and was originally published on 18 January 2016 [1].

What the earlier review said

These are the earlier review’s own words, from 2016. We have not repeated the test and cannot confirm them.

How they tested it: “The Ice Scraper was tested on a windscreen with no other heat or de-icing products applied. We’ve tested this on both a thin and thick frost.”

What they found: “As with any ice scraper you still need to put enough force behind it when scraping, it made short work of the ice. We checked the windscreen after for scratches and it was scratch free.”

What they liked:

  • “It’s small enough to put in your glovebox without it taking up the space that a usual sized ice scraper would.”
  • “Comfortable padded grip”
  • “Cleared the ice quicker than a normal single blade ice scraper.”

What they didn’t like:

  • “Be prepared to still get a cold hand”
  • “Will the plastic blades stand the test of time? It’s been good so far but we’ll keep you up to date.”

On value: “You can pick one of these up for around £6 (at the time of publishing), you can also pick up a normal ice scraper for around £2-£4”. The earlier review judged the extra cost worthwhile. Prices have almost certainly changed since 2016.

Known issues and safety

Recall check: we searched GOV.UK product safety alerts, reports and recalls (Office for Product Safety and Standards) for “iceplane” on 19 October 2026 and found no results [2]. Check the list again for the exact product before you buy.

The earlier review reported no scratches on the windscreen. We found no independent source on whether scrapers scratch glass, so we cannot say. Rias advises care along the edges of the windows and windscreen to avoid damaging the seals [3]. Follow the maker’s instructions. See our ice scrapers hub for what the motoring guides say about technique.

Questions people ask

Does it scratch the windscreen?

The earlier review checked its windscreen afterwards and reported no scratches [1]. We could not confirm that, and we found no independent source on it.

Why two blades?

The earlier review describes it as a scraper with two blades that lets you scrape in both directions, and found it cleared ice quicker than a normal single-blade scraper [1]. We have not confirmed that.

Do I still need de-icer?

The AA and Arnold Clark Autoparts both describe using a de-icer and a scraper together [4][5]. See our guide on how to clear an iced windscreen safely.

Will the blades last?

The earlier review raised this question and said the blades had been good so far, without giving a longer-term answer [1].

Our verdict

We cannot recommend or advise against this product. The only account of it we have is the previous owners’ 2016 review, which was positive about speed, size and grip and open about not knowing how long the blades would last. Check current maker information before you buy. This is a research summary, not a test result.
