What is it?

Cquartz is a ceramic coating from the team at Carpro that offers scratch resistance, chemical resistance and self cleaning properties for 2+ years. With a 110 degree water contact angle and a hardness equivalence to diamonds, CQUK, which is a version designed for the climate of the UK certainly sounds an impressive product.

How we Tested it?

We have been offering Cquartz as an upgraded treatment within the business for the past 6 months. During this time we have applied the coating to a variety of vehicles from brand new with faultless paint to those which required extensive correction work prior to application. Many of the vehicles used upon have been visited for maintenance treatments and durability and other properties of the product monitored.

We Liked:

• Great presentation. The product not only looks stylish and professional but comes with clear instructions, all the equipment needed for application and Reload, another product used for maintenance of CQUK.
• Suprisingly fast to apply once you master it. You can treat a car in under two hours.
• The finish is unrivalled. We are yet to see anything quite like it. The depth to the paintwork and metallic flake where present is to die for.
• Protection is insanely good. We used it on bodywork, wheels and plastic trim and it even restored the look of the trim as well as offering superb protection on all.
• Maintenance is a breeze, we snow foamed and rinsed some of the vehicles protected with CQUK and could have walked away after just that.

We Didn't like:

• It's not so much a criticism but this product is not for novice car detailers. It is recommended to machine polish and panel wipe before hand from experience both for bonding and due to sealing in any defects for years otherwise.
• A product that divides opinion is Reload the maintenance product that accompanies CQUK. Personally we could not get on with it at all and no matter how used we found it smeary and hard to apply. We have since substituted for Sonax BSD.
• More Suede adapters needed!

Overall:

Cquartz is a truly superb product. Once application is mastered, your car is not only looking stunning but is an absolute breeze to maintain for years. We have even heard of as much as 5 years durability from the product. Even if you don't have the means to apply this fantastic product yourself, we recommend finding a professional detailer who can, you will not regret it.
