What We Say

What is it?

The Little Trees air freshener is a very well-recognised brand of air freshener.  You can find them in pretty much any supermarket. Magic Tree describe it as the following: "This Magic Tree air freshener has a fresh and clean 'New Car' scent. The long-lasting fragrance makes it the ideal solution for the car, home or office. Designed with a bright and eye-catching colour in the recognised little tree shape."

How we Tested it?

We have tested both the 'New Car' and 'Vanillaroma' scents. This was in a car with no other fragranced products, just a wet dog every so often. We followed the recommendations on the back of the packet. You start by leaving the air freshener in the plastic wrapper and increase the exposure by around 1cm per week.

We Liked:

• The 'Vanillaroma' scent did indeed smell like vanilla and was pleasant.
• They are cheap, at the time of publishing, you can pick up a pack of 6 on Amazon for around £6, just about one pound each!

We Didn't like:

• The 'New Car' smell didn't smell like a new car, however, the scent was still pleasant.
• For us the scent ran out quickly. We made the changes to the exposure of the air freshener but much quicker than once a week, just because it stopped becoming effective after a few days. It only lasted around 8-9 days before the scent became unnoticeable.
• It would be quite annoying, in my opinion, to have the plastic wrapping around the air freshener for 'up to 7 weeks' based on the manufacturer's instructions.

Overall:

So you can pick up a packet of 6 for around £6, you will probably expect these to last you around 6 weeks in total - for that money, you could pick up two of the California Scents air fresheners that we have recently reviewed which will last around 6 weeks each. So for a quick cheap scent boost, these would suffice, but if you are looking for a lasting air freshener I would look elsewhere.
