What is it?

The Aukey CC-S7 charger is a small but attractive car charger that fits neatly into your 12B accessory socket and claims to charge two devices simultaneously at full speed.

It also features AUKEY's AiPower which recognises the charging requirements of your USB powered devices and matches power output for safe and efficient charging. It also features a number of built in safeguards to protect devices against overcharging or excessive current.

Getting a bit more technical it will charge 2 devices up to 2.4A, considering an iPhone 7 Plus uses around 2.1A this is perfectly sufficiently and will be for most devices on the market meaning you devices will charge at full speed.

It currently retails at around £8 and comes nicely presented in a small box with a manual and a warranty card.

How we tested it?

We tested it out over a number of weeks to see what it was like over an extended period of time with both one and two devices charging simultaneously.

We Liked:

• It's inexpensive, at around £8 it doesn't break the bank
• It comes with a 24 month warranty which is more than most on the market
• It comes with overcharging, excessive current protection and will automatically determine the charging power for your device - we all buy these expensive smart phones and it's good to know it's charging them safely.
• The aluminum finish looks great and fits nicely into the accessory socket

We didn't like:

• Honestly struggling to find a negative about it, ok it might be a pound or two more expensive than competitors but don't forget the 24 month warranty!

Overall:

It's difficult to pick up any negatives about the car charge to be honest - it does the job, and it does it well. It's good looking and unobtrusive when it's in the accessory socket. If you're looking for a reliable, well-made and intelligent in-car charger then you're not going to find much better out there for this amount of money. Well worth a buy.
