What We Say

What is it:

Detailing Swabs are a small set of swabs of two different styles, designed to allow the keen detailer to access intricate areas on both the interior and exterior of a vehicle that may not have been possible otherwise.

How we tested it:

We were kindly sent a set of Detailing Swabs to put through their paces. We have tested the products on both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, testing them on intricate places such around badges, between panel gaps, door shuts and in fiddly interior areas. We looked at how they aided cleaning and the range of uses for the product.

We Liked:

• Very useful for accessing recesses in interiors such as in air vents, between handbrake and gear stick and CD slot.
• Great for removing grime and dirt from around exterior badges.
• Two different designs allow for a swab type approach and a more 'flick'out the soiling type application.
• Good value, working out at approximately 50p per swab which are useable many times over depending on chosen usage.

We Didn't Like:

• Would be useful if alternative size swabs were included. Especially longer handled. Some areas on vehicles such as down the sides of seats etc. would really benefit from a longer handled variety.
• We would prefer if one end of swab was one design and the other end the other design rather than separate swabs for each and having to change between them.

Overall:

Anything that can help access intricate areas in the detailing scene is always going to be a winner. These Detailing Swabs certainly fill a void in the market that seems so obvious yet really hasn't been properly addressed. Don't be fooled into thinking they are posh cotton wool buds as they are far more firm and able than the soft buds found on those and the two different designs allow for access to areas that other swab products cannot. The other factor that these Detailing Swabs bring is value. With rival products costing as much as double for less swabs, these should appeal to all as somewhat of a no brainer to have to hand. Moving forward we do think they would benefit from more variety in designsize and from being double ended rather than seperate different types of swab but overall a very useful addition to your kit.
