What We Say

What is it:

Taken from the Keep it Mint website; Keep It Mint Shampoo is a highly dilutable, biodegradable car shampoo for effective removal of dirt and soiling. It will leave a streak free finish and is best used as part of a two bucket safe wash routine.

How we Tested it:

Keep it Mint's Shampoo landed in the BecauseRacecarBox who we work closely with in a 200ml miniature form. We tested the product on a range of vehicles both protected and unprotected and on various levels of soiling looking at its cleaning capabilities, finish and usability.

We Liked:

• Well priced product for some quantities, particularly as the "mini mints" are available in 200ml form allowing you access to the product without breaking the bank.
• Smells fantastic, lovely mint scent that remains throughout the wash stage.
• 1000:1 dilution makes the product nice and economical.
• Cleans well with no streaks/residue.

We Didn't Like:

• Doesn't feel quite as slicklubricated as some rivals during use, not to say it wasn't slick or felt unsafe but lacked slightly the glide of rivals.
• We would love to see a 5L offering.

Overall:

When products smell nice they can sometimes have the tendency to have focussed more on this than the performance of the product. Luckily, the beautiful as you might expect"¦mint scented"¦Keep it Mint shampoo doesn't compromise its effectiveness as a shampoo for gimmicks. The product has a great economical dilution rate of 1000:1 and the availability of the product in 200ml, 500ml and 1 litre offerings is appealing to varying markets. We just wish the product had a slightly more premium feel during use. That isn't to say it feels cheap, nor unkind to paint, we can't quite put our finger on it but it just didn't seem quite as luxurious as some in the price point, though the smell and dilution are big selling points. Overall a commendable shampoo.
